Strong sales for new Discovery 57 blue-water cruising yacht

Discovery Yachts has secured the sale of the first 3 Discovery 57 blue-water cruising yachts following the design launch which took place at the Southampton Boat Show in September 2011. The stunning new performance blue-water cruiser which has been designed by Ron Holland, with styling and interior designs by Ken Freivokh, has attracted exceptional sales interest from both European and International purchasers.

In addition, the company has also signed contracts for two new Discovery 55s, the company’s hallmark short-handed performance passage cruiser; thus starting the year with over £5M of new boat sales.

The new Discovery 57 will be a fast passage performance yacht with an easy motion that is designed for short-handed sailing. The new yacht incorporates all the cockpit features loved by Discovery 67 owners, including twin wheels, a deep and secure extended cockpit seating area with a large fold-away table and ergonomically designed seat backs for superior comfort.

The stunning interior takes its inspiration from the award winning interior design of the Discovery Cat 50 and offers owners a light and airy living area in a choice of wood finishes with numerous portlights, windows and hatches to ensure exceptional visibility and easy airflow. Panoramic vision is the hallmark of Discovery Yachts and the new 57 is no exception with a large raised saloon and separate navigation position both offering excellent visibility.

Media and prospective purchasers are welcome to visit the company’s purpose built manufacturing facility at Marchwood, near Southampton, to experience the exceptional build quality of these bespoke yachts and view the highly skilled craftsmen at work.

Discovery will be exhibiting their award-winning Discovery 50 Catamaran at the Miami International Boat Show, 16th-20th February 2012, berth 45C Bayside.
