Discovery Yachts was founded in 1998 by John Charnley. The business was founded on the desire to create a world cruising yacht designed specifically for those wishing to enjoy extended bluewater cruising without the need for a crew.

The result was the hugely successful Discovery 55 which was awarded the coveted Boat of the Year Award in 2004. The Discovery family has now been extended to encompass the larger, but equally stylish Discovery 67, and the Discovery 50 Catamaran.

Working with expert designers and highly-skilled craftsmen, Discovery Yachts remains a small, family-owned business – but with a growing extended family of some 40 owners who share with us their stories of adventure and bluewater sailing from around the world.

As a team, we are committed to delivering a very personal service to all our owners. Based in Southampton, England, we’re big enough to be world-class yacht builders, but small enough to ensure our core values come through in everything we do.
